What are engineering sciences?
Engineering sciences is a set of scientific principles that can be practically applied to develop, design, maintain or improve different structures, systems, machines, equipment, materials, and production processes.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

OUR MISSION
To provide the opportunity for the gifted and competent youth from the towns, cities and rural areas of Latvia to acquire competitive general secondary education of high quality with a special focus on exact and natural sciences.
• to support talented Latvian students, giving them the opportunity to acquire knowledge that cannot be obtained at all other schools;
• to ensure that only professional academic personnel is involved in the study process and to create a modern study environment;
• to foster advanced scientific research skills;
• to ensure a wide range of extracurricular activities to advance professional competence;
• to promote engineering sciences among schoolchildren.
OUR VALUES
• Skilful and talented students;
• Professional academic personnel;
• High quality education;
• Autonomy and excellence;
• Cooperation and public activity;
• Creativity and innovation;
• Personal approach.
RTU EHS students will have the opportunity to complete particular RTU study courses. In case EHS graduates opt to study at RTU, they will be able to receive a Bachelor degree in a shorter period of time.
Academic personnel of RTU and leading researchers in particular fields will meet the students during the classes and brief them on current research themes.
In addition to preparing the students for a centralised exam in a foreign language and research activities to be conducted in a foreign language, the teachers will also help students prepare for IELTS test.
In summer, students will have the opportunity to learn more about their dream profession doing internship at one of RTU cooperation partner enterprises.
Students will acquire advanced skills in developing scientific research papers and presenting the results, they will also have the opportunity to develop their research projects at RTU laboratories equipped with state-of-the art facilities.
Integrating modern technologies into the study process, the teachers and students will participate in developing video study courses or MOOCs.
Together with RTU students, EHS students will be able to work at RTU Electronics and Robotics Clubs, as well as gain skills and competences at RTU Design Factory.
ENGINEERING SCIENCE
Engineering sciences is a set of scientific principles that can be practically applied to develop, design, maintain or improve different structures, systems, machines, equipment, materials, and production processes.
Engineers work to create end products that are vital for the development of humankind, such as, for instance, new equipment, materials, methods, software, computer systems, vehicles, ground-breaking experiments, innovative solutions for an existing problem or major improvements of the existing technologies. In essence, we enjoy the results of the work of engineers in all our daily activities, e.g. calling someone, riding a mountain bike, flying a plane, walking across a bridge and even wearing perfume or cleaning our teeth.
Engineering is divided into numerous fields, for example, civil, environmental, electronic, mechanical, aeronautic, shipping, nuclear physics, biomedical, telecommunications, geomatic, computer and chemical technology engineering. Engineers often major in one or more of these fields to solve problems and forecast whether it is possible to implement the world craziest and most unthinkable ideas in the near or further future, making our lives more comfortable and exciting.
